George & The Dragon

George & The Dragon... ole England legend has it that there was a man by the name of Saint George , the patron saint of England, courageously slayed a dragon and rescued a princess. For more info, search from Wikipedia.

It was Louis' birthday and since he studied in England and had fond memories of the days - we decided to take him to the George & the Dragon English Pub for lunch. How nice! We had surprisingly good English grub like Guiness beef stew, ribs, sheperd's pie etc... we had some pints of ale and good fun.

What bliss! It was such fun having a good lunch and a good laugh during a Monday afternoon. With just that 2 hours of fun - it basically maimed us in the afternoon. Especially Louis & Ahmoo, whom had the 'No Worries' tea - they were like zombies thereafter... a good end to a blissful day..

PS: we did a little work, though it was definitely a struggle...

Who invented Karaoke??

Daisuke Inoue invented the Karoke ( it means "empty orchestra") in 1971 and didn't patent it, thus he didn't end up a millionaire. He is now 65 ( i think) and owns a little company somewhere in Japan. However, his wonderful & ingenuous invention has become the biggest entertainment phenomenon in the world ( or at least in Asia). I love karaoke.

Just last week, I had a session with some of my galpals in a well-known karaoke joint which not only have the latest songs but a dinner buffet as well. Genius!! Eat all you want ( and can) and loads of drinks plus snacks & a fruit platter. Wow...so we ate and sang. Literally singing as many songs as we can because of the time limit ( 3 hours which the 1st hour was wasted on the road/Friday night traffic) and we danced, talked loudly, ate loudly. It was exhilirating and it was so much more to us because we were all MOTHERS with YOUNG ENERGETIC KIDS. We needed the me-time and the stress outlet..we acted non-motherish - we sang and talked about our younger days. It was a blast...

It wasn't enough...after 2 hours of solid singing and eating, we wanted more - but we had to go. We had to go and save the Daddies from committing suicide and the children from destroying the house. So, fare thee well Karaoke...till we meet again in December!!!! YAHOO!!!!

Blissful Lunch...

Sharing food, thoughts or dreams with good friends are always blissful. Today I shared a good lunch with a good chummy. We shared food and thoughts. We talked about mothers and daughters, husbands & wives, our children and our expectations of them. We see life around us differently now, compared to 10 years ago. We found out that we are very much like our mothers, whom were influential during our growing age. Now that we are mothers, we appreciate history, family background, experiences and family more than ever. We appreciate the relationships we have with friends more and try to not take that relationship for granted.

Probably we will look back 10 years from now - and will talk about different expectations, experiences and laugh or cry about them. We will talk about the different stages in our motherhood, being a wife and a daughter and a friend. Hopefully, we will continue to share blissful lunches, thoughts and love. Also, continue to have a blissful life ahead - full of sunshine and rain, storms and rainbows. Blithesomeness....
