Who invented Karaoke??

Daisuke Inoue invented the Karoke ( it means "empty orchestra") in 1971 and didn't patent it, thus he didn't end up a millionaire. He is now 65 ( i think) and owns a little company somewhere in Japan. However, his wonderful & ingenuous invention has become the biggest entertainment phenomenon in the world ( or at least in Asia). I love karaoke.

Just last week, I had a session with some of my galpals in a well-known karaoke joint which not only have the latest songs but a dinner buffet as well. Genius!! Eat all you want ( and can) and loads of drinks plus snacks & a fruit platter. Wow...so we ate and sang. Literally singing as many songs as we can because of the time limit ( 3 hours which the 1st hour was wasted on the road/Friday night traffic) and we danced, talked loudly, ate loudly. It was exhilirating and it was so much more to us because we were all MOTHERS with YOUNG ENERGETIC KIDS. We needed the me-time and the stress outlet..we acted non-motherish - we sang and talked about our younger days. It was a blast...

It wasn't enough...after 2 hours of solid singing and eating, we wanted more - but we had to go. We had to go and save the Daddies from committing suicide and the children from destroying the house. So, fare thee well Karaoke...till we meet again in December!!!! YAHOO!!!!
